Maria is the Founder and President of learn4change. Growing up in a small developing country, being displaced by a devastating earthquake, and struggling with the chaotic post-Soviet educational system and economic conditions, college was a far-fetched dream for Maria. However her ambition and hard work allowed her to not only complete graduate education in the US but also pursue a successful career and support her family. As a true example of how education can change one’s life, Maria’s passion is to give back and open a door of opportunity for other children and inspire them to dream big. 

 Alvin is the Director of our Latin America Programs. Born and raised in La Paz, Bolivia, Alvin was always mentored by his mother to help others in need. His mother would volunteer her time at the nearby orphanage by cutting the kids’ hair, donating food, toys and clothes. Every little bit helped and all the kids touched Alvin’s heart one way or another. He promised to follow in his mother’s footsteps. With assistance from his father and family, Alvin was able to come to study in the US and secure a successful career as a government contractor. Helping children in Latin America and giving them a chance for a better future is his biggest aspiration and meaning in life. 

Anush is the Director of our Armenia Programs. She immigrated from Armenia to the US as a teenager and immersed herself in the diversity and opportunities that this country offers. She completed her undergraduate studies in rural Iowa and her MBA and eMBA degrees in New York City, two very different environments that allowed her to learn from very different experiences. Anush is motivated by her vision for a kind and cooperative world, where every child and human being is able to find their purpose and self-actualize through conscious, sustainable work that produces win-win solutions for all.
